If you are an Eagles fan you had to be biting your nails toward the end of this one. The Eagles had a 21-3 lead in the first half, and you might have thought this one was going to be a laugher, no it didn’t work out that way. The Birds hung on by their fingernails to win this one. The Eagles defense did come up with some big plays, especially Micheal Lewis’ 84 yard interception return for a TD,and Brian Dawkin’ sack of Jason Cambell to hold the Redskins to a field goal, but the run defense was almost non –existent again, they definitely have to figure something out before next weeks showdown with the Giants. Jeff Garcia is doing a good job running this offense in McNabb’s absence. He threw 2 more TD’s without an interception, what more can you say, or want. Brian Westbrook had 17 carries for 88yards to bring him within 5 yards of 1,000 yards for the season, it will be Westbrook’s first 1,000 yd season in his career, he should get it next week against the Giants. Right now the Eagles are 7-6, tied for the Wild Card with the Giants and only one game out of the division lead thanks to the Saints beating the Cowboys. Next weeks game against the Giants is huge, and hopefully the Bird’s can come away with a victory.
