Thursday nights game between the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings is the last game at Lambeau Field for the Packers this season. It also starts the debate wether Brett Favre will be back next season. The Sports Den feels there are three reasons why Favre will be back with the packers in 2007.
1. Even after a slow start and a very bad NFC the Packers still have a slim shot at making the playoffs this season. If they don’t, and the NFC doesn’t get much better in 2007 than it is now, they will still have a shot in 2007 and that will be enough to get Favre back.
2. In his last game Favre passed Dan Marino to become #1 on the career completions list. Favre is only 7 TD passes behind Marino for #1 on most TD passes. He would have to throw 7 TD passes in the next 2 games, highly unlikely, but he is close enough to bring him back next year to pass Marino.
3. Is Aaron Rodgers ready for the NFL yet? Rodgers will becoming off a season ending ankle injury, and who is the backup now with Rodgers out?
So, yes Brett Favre will be back next season.
