Do the Chicago Bears have a chance to beat Indianapolis in the Super Bowl? Sure they do, maybe not a great chance, but a chance nontheless. Indianapolis may have more talent, QB, WR, for example but The Sports Den got to thinking about recent Champions. Lets start with the Miami Heat, they won the NBA Championship against the Dallas Mavericks. If memory is correct weren’t the Heat considered to old compared to the Mavericks? Not sure about the record between the Eastern and Western Conferences but the Western Conference was considered better, and a team from the Eastern Conference won. Not sure if Dallas was the favorite going into the Finals.
The Stanley Cup Finals were just about the same as the NBA Finals. A team from the Eastern Conference, Carolina Hurricanes, won the Cup against a team considered better from the Western Conference, Edmonton Oilers. A lot of the hockey guru’s gave the edge to the Oilers. Underdog wins again.
In Major League Baseball the National League wasn’t given much of a chance to win the World Series against the American League considering the domination of the AL over the NL in inter league play. The World Series came down to the Detroit Tigers and the St. Louis Cardinals. If memory serves correct, the Tigers were given the edge due to better pitching. Again the underdog came through as the NL Cardinals beat the Al Tigers.
Now its the NFL’s turn, not too many people outside of Chicago are giving the Bears a chance. The Colts are the favorite’s according to the line. This has been a strange year in the NFL where just about anything that could happen did. The NFC was dominated by the AFC in inter conference games, sounds familier, so there is a good chance that the trend could continue with the underdog Bears knocking off the favorite Colts in the Super Bowl.
Now with all that said the Super Bowl winner will probably be the Colts in a blowout.
