Its only week one of the college football season and already there has been one upset that will be considered the biggest of all time. For the first time since they’ve been keeping polls a Div.1-AA school beat a Div.1-A school that was ranked in the AP Poll, Michigan being ranked #5. Its good to see a Major school get beat by the little guy every once in a while. You have to know that the only reason Appalachian St was on Michigan’s schedule was that the Wolverines thought they would get an easy win, oh boy what a surprise! In case anyone is wondering where in the hell is Appalachian St., its located in Boone N.C., just found that out myself watching the Tennesse – California game, that was the trivia question. Something like this happened last year to. The University of Colorado scheduled a DIV.II or III school for their first game, Colorado had a new coach and thought he would get his first season off to a good start, guess what, Colorado lost and the coach resigned at the end of the season. Reports have said that this might be Lloyd Carr’s last season with Michigan, rumor is he’s going to retire, well if this is his last season its going to be a long one after this loss. Michigan’s season didn’t get off to a quick start, it came to a quick end. You have to give Appalachian St. some credit, they have been the Div. 1-AA Champs for the last two years. There must be alot of Michigan fans crying in their beers after this one. This wasn’t supposed to happen boo-hoo, but it did and the only thing The Sports Den has to say about is , GOOD!
