Over the last few weeks or so there has been a debate between the NFL and the so called “Big Cable Companies” about the NFL Network. This debate has heated up even more with the Packers – Cowboys game on Thursday night being on the NFL Network and a lot of football fans will not be able to see it due to the Cable Co’s deciding to remove it from their basic package and putting it in a tier. The NFL says its network should be included in the basic package. The Sports Den has to agree with the NFL on this. Yes we love football, no another $5 a month added onto an already high cable bill is not a lot to put out. The problem is with the excuse the Cable Co’s are using for removing the NFL Network in the first place. They say putting it in the basic package will be forcing some people to pay for a channel that they don’t want. Thats hilarious since the thats what makes up their basic package in the first place. There are a few channels right now in the basic package that I can think of that I’m paying for and don’t want, The Fox News Channel-already have the comedy channel, The Fox Business Channel, The Fox Reality Channel, Home Shopping Channels, Logo, Bloomberg, Religious Channels, just to nam,e a few, there are probably more The Sports Den doesn’t know about since we don’t watch them anyhow. This question has probably been asked already but The Sports Den is going to ask it again, Shouldn’t the customer have a choice in what channels are included in the basic package since they are paying for it? Like dropping one basic channel and replacing it with the NFL Network. The problem with that is its to easy.
