The Mitchell Report

The much anticipated Mitchell Report came out on Thursday. The report linked names of baseball player swho are linked to using steroids and other performing enhancing drugs. Some of the names came as no surprise as over the last few months names have been leaked out as to who was going to be named in the report. Goerge Mitchell in his press conference basically said that MLB was slow to react to the problem of steroid use in baseball and had some suggestions for MLB on how to get rid of the problem, he also said that anyone mentioned in the report should not be disciplined. Probably due to the fact that in the report there is no proof of anyone actually taking steroids. I guess thats why they got Barry Bonds for lying to a grand jury. MLB Commisioner Bud Selig acknowledged the fact that MLB was slow to react, it took long enough. He also said he would take on a case by case basis if anyone should be disciplined.

The Sports Den did take a look at the report once it was posted online, and took a look at the names mentioned in it. Maybe its a good thing that said that he would go on a by a case by case basis to see if anyone needs to be disciplined. Some of the name on here may have had a legitimate reason for taking the steroids because it sure as hell didn’t help their performance.

The following players were connected to steroids, either use or possession, in the report:

• Chad Allen
• Mike Bell
