The NFL season is coming to an end and we finally get some relief from all the talk about the New England Patriots. With all of the talk about going undefeated, there has been some talk about this years Patriots team being the best ever. Personally The Sports Den wouldn’t go that far. Going undefeated is a great accomplishment, but let’s not forget they won’t be the first team to do it, since the AFL-NFL merger the ’72 Dolphins hold that title as the first team to have an undefeated season. There were two teams that had undefeated season before the merger, the Bears and Packers. So Patriot fans can calm down now, your team really isn’t making history, just adding to it. One more thing, if given a choice between the ’72 Dolphins and this years Patriots as to which team is better, from what The Sports Den can remember of the “72 Dolphins, The Sports Den would chose the Dolphins.
The Sports Den would personally like to thank Sen. John Kerry for his attempt to make sure everyone got to see the Patriots-Giants game Saturday night. It was announced that CBS and NBC would be simulcasting the game. Not that The Sports Den would lose any sleep if we didn’t get to see it.
