Round 10 goes to the Mets by the final score of 10-9. It started out ugly with Phils pitcher Adam Eaton showing no signs of being able to defend himself from the Mets attack in the first three innings, scoring 8 unanswered runs before Chase Utley’s 25th home run put the Phils on the board. The Mets had a 9 run lead at 10-1 before the Phils put together a late rally over the last three innings to cut it to 10-9, but they didn’t have enough left to pull out a win, unfortunately Phils fans didn’t get to see Billy Wagner blow another save. You could blame that on Charlie Manuel for staying with Eaton one inning to long when it was obvious that Eaton just didn’t have it, isn’t that what the bullpen’s for? The game wasn’t without a little controversy, Ryan Howard hit what was called right the first time, a ground rule double due to fan interference, but was overturned and ruled a home run, which led to the ejection of Mets’ manager Jerry Manuel.
