According to MLB.com
the Phillies mad a trade on Thursday, sending three prospects, 2B Adrian Cardenas, OF Matt Spencer, and LHP Josh Outman (great last name for a pitcher) to the Oakland A’s for pitcher Joe Blanton. Let’s hope that a change of scenery will help Blanton because his stats for the first half of the season are horrible. In 20 starts Blanton went 5-12 with a 4.96 ERA, don’t care what league your in they are not good stats. Now the question is where in the rotation are they going to put him? Its a safe bet that Cole Hamels, Jamie Moyer and Kyle Kendrick are not going anywhere. That leaves Brett Myers and Adam Eaton out on a limb. If Myers comes back does that mean Eaton’s the odd man out or does it put Myers on the trading block? I guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens. Stay tuned.

If Myers comes back they could put him in the bullpen and get rid of Tom Gordon, he\’s done.
