The Phillies and Mets square off in round 11 tonight at Shea Stadium for sole posetion of 1st place in the NL East. Taking the mound for the Mets will be Johan Santana (8-7, 3.10). Joe Blanton (5-12,4.96 with A’s) will be taking the mound for the Phillies making his NL debut after being trade from the A’s to the Phillies. There is a bit of good news for Phillies fans who don’t know what tyo expect from Blanton, in two previous starts agains the Mets Blanton has thrown 15 shutrout innings, lets hope he keeps that streak going. Santana is 1-0 with one no-decision against the Phillies this season. It would definitely be a good thing if the Joa Blanton that pitched against the Phillies in June showed up against the Mets, and that the Phillies bats came alive.
