The Green Bay Packers have hired former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer as a consultant to help with PR with the Favre mess. They really don’t need him, the answer is the Madden Curse (8 of 10 players, 80%, on the cover of Madden either wound up getting hurt or have their worst season the year they were on the cover*).  It would explain why you offered Favre $20 million over 10 years to stay away. It would also give them an excuse, don’t really see this happening, if they did trade Favre to the Vikings they could use it to calm those angry Packers who would curse the trade by saying if he was in antoher uniform the curse wouldn’t affect him. It would work if they decided to trade Aaron Rogers to the Vikings instead of Favre, the want to prove there is no curse, and even covers ESPN’s butt for starting the Viking trade rumors in the firast place in order for a ratings boost for the first Monday night game, (Vikings @ Packers in Green Bay). Yes ity even works for Brett Favre, he was going to stay retired then saw himself on the cover and decided to come back because he didn’t want to be remebered as surviving the Madden curse because he didn’t play. Can’t blame him for that. Yeah it sounds crazy but it works for everybody involved.

*If there is no such thing as a curse then why did EA Sports go from using active players to using a retired player on the cover? Favre was announced for the cover after he retired. 

** The only thing The Sports Den didn’t completely make up is that 80% of the players on the cover of Madden either got hurt or had their worst season that year, thats fact.
