You could say round 14 between the Phillies and Mets was a real slugfest. The Mets dominated early jumping on Jamie Moyer for six runs in the first three innings, one of the few times this season that the 45 year old Moyer pitched like a 45 year old. The Mets would add another run to go up 7-0 in the fourth inning before the Phillies would get on the board and start their comeback. Give a lot of credit to the bullpen for holding the Mets scoreless the rest of the way. its funny how similar this collapse by the Mets was like their collapse last September, 7 game lead and fell apart, 7 run lead and fell apart. you have to give Phillies manger some credit for the moves that he made, he doesn’t get that all of thwe time, especially telling Brett Myers not to swing at a pitch in the bottom of the 13th with the bases loaded and nobody out. Lets see what effect round 14 has on round 15 between these two teams.
Round 15 – Wednesday Aug. 27, Citizen’s Bank Park
Mets – Johan Santana (12-7, 2.64)
Phillies – Kyle Kendrick (11-7, 4.87)
