After blowing a 7-0 lead in round 14 on Tuesday night the Mets returned the favor against the Phillies on Wednesday night. After taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, only to see the Phillies take the lead 2-1 in the bottom half of the inning on a 2-run Ryan Howard home run. Jayson Werth put the Phillies up 3-1 with his 18th homer of the season. Just like the Mets bullpen couldn’t hold the lead on Tuesday, the Phillies bullpen failed to put the Mets away. In the eighth inning the Mets scored 4 runs to fininsh the scoring and take a 6-3 win and first place in the NL East by 1/2 game.
