Well Wednesday is finally here and its time to get the party started. Game one features the Phillies ace Cole Hamels against Scott Kazmir of th Rays, both pitchers are southpawls. Hamels this post seasonis 3-0 with a 1.23 ERA, while Kazmir is 1-0, with a 4.02 ERA in 3 post season starts, and hasn’t pitched more than 5 innings in any start, advantage Phillies. This game is huge considering the team that has won game 1 has gone on to win 10 of the last 11 series’. It seems that just about everybody likes the Rays to win this series, except Phillies fans. Both teams seem to be evenly matched offensively, having to give the slight edge to the Rays with the starting pitching, but the Phillies have the definite edge in their bullpen over the Rays. The Phillies were the best team on the road this season, while the Rays were the best at home. What The Sports Den would like to see is the Phillies steal at least 1 game in Tampa,if not 2, then come back to Citizen’s Bank Park to close it out. There is a saying, the third time is the charm, well this is the third time the Phillies have been to the World Series under their current ownership, losing the previous two. Could this bee the Charm? Let’s hope so Phillies fans.
