Its Time For This Eagles Fan To Stop Complaining

Now being an Eagles fan I’ve done my share of screaming and hollering about the owners, coaches, and players. Sometimes your right and sometimes like this year your wrong. A few weeks ago just about every Eagles fan including myself were saying both Donovan McNabb and Andy Reid should go, saying one was going down hill (McNabb), while the other(Reid) didn’t know what he was doing anymore. A few weeks and a couple of wins (Cardinals, 48-20, Giants 20-14) have me admitting that I was wrong for thinking that way, it happens every year, then again when you see your team lose a couple games they shouldn’t have(Redskins, Bears), and tie a team (Bengals) they should have blown away, I guess it makes you just a little pissed off, and react without thinking first. Right now there are some very good reasons for keeping both Donovan McNabb, and Andy Reid around, it sounds hypocritical, but I look at it as taking a look at the bigger picture and changing my mind a severe braincramp.

If you stop and take a look at whats been happening around the NFL recently, especially in the NFC East, you have to admit things aren’t that bad with Reid and McNabb. The Cowboys, predicted by most experts to win the Super Bowl are now fighting to make the playoffs, and Jerry Jones is now ripping into his star RB Marion Barber about not playing in the Cowboy’s loss to the Steelers. The Redskins, a surprise team a few weeks back have come back down to earth, Clinton Portis decided to rip into his coach, and take a look at Green Bay, the made a decision for the future and went with Aaron Rodgers, and let Brett Favre go, they were one pass away from going to the Super Bowl, and now won’t make the playoffs, which leaves the question, is Kevin Kolb ready to take over for McNabb? I’m not sure about that, but I’m sure I’m not ready to find out, yet.

I also have to admit that I got somewhat spoiled when the Eagles went to 4 straight NFC Championship games, frgetting the fact, that yeah the last few years have been rough, but it happens to every team,no matter how good you are, and it could be a lot worse, take a look at the Detroit Lions, and wht their fans have had to put up with over the last decade or so. Is it that bad here in Philly, no, so their really isn’t anything to complain about. Its a shame I can’t remember that before I start complaining. Oh well.
