The Flyers saw their five game winning streak come to an end thanks to a 5-2 loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday night. Flyers C Mike Richards was held off the score sheet ending his eight game point streak ( 7 G, 8 A). It wasn’t a good night for the Flyers letting the Canadiens jump out to a 3-0 lead before they answered with a goal from Arron Asham to cut it to 3-1 after one. Flyer killer Alexi Kovalev (27 career goals against the Flyers) made it 4-1 with a goal in the second period. Braydon Colburn cut it to 4-2 with his third goal of the season with six and a half minutes left. There was no comeback tonight, that would be as close as the Flyers would get. Montreral would get the last goal on a powerplay with just over one minute left. Time to start another winning streak.
