Bud Selig has officially chimed in on A-Rod and his admitted use of steroids in this article from ESPN. In the article Selig says he is “heartsick” about this, and the average baseball fan is supposed to believe that crap? Is it just me or does anyone else notice that whenever Selig opens his mouth he sounds like a complete jack-ass. The truth is he is not going to punish A-Rod or any other player for that matter, he already said ythat in the Mitchell report, that none of the players should be punished. How can he, he’s the biggest reason why this has gotten to where it is today. He says that in 1997 he sent a memo out saying that steriods and other performance enhancing drugs were against the law. Doesn’t that sound just a little bit like he knew something was going on then but didn’t do anything about it? Nothing like sticking your head in the sand until a book by Jose Conseco forced the issue out in the open. What Bud Selig should never say again is he is trying to protect the integrity of the game when the facts prove otherwise. What Bud Selig should do now is just resign, let someone else from outside of baseball come in and clean this mess up, thats the only thing right now that would be good for baseball.
