Brett Myers took the mound for the Phillies against the Colorado Rockies. The good news is the Phillies won 8-4, and Brett Myers remains undefeated at Coors Field. Myers picked up his first win of the season, hopefully many more to follow. Like everything else there is a bad side to this, for the second game in a row Myers gave up 3 home runs, thats 6 long balls he has given up in just 2 games. If he keeps that up he will no doubt shatter the record for most home runs given up by a pitcher in a season, this is something we’re going to have to keep track of during the season.I’m not saying I want to see Myers do that, and not saying it is going to happen, but at this rate and considering how many starts he has left in thias season you can see where this couls be headed. I’m not exactly sure what the record is, but if Myers should start another 28 games, and gives up 3 homer’s in each of those games, that would give him a total of 70 homer’s given up, thats not a record any pitcher wants. Then again if the Phillies win most of those games I guess it wouldn’t be as bad..
