If your a Phillies fan you have to be happy that they went into the new Yankee Satdium and ended the Yankees 9 game winning streak, I know I am. It was also good to see Brett Myers response in the bottom of the first inning, throwing behind Derek Jeter, to Chase Utley getting hit on the second pitch of the game after Jimmy Rollins put A.J Burnett’s first pitch into the rightfield seats. Burnett must have had a flashback to his days with the Marlins and the beanball wars between the Phillies and Marlins. hearing everything that is being said about the new stadium you had to expect to see a few home runs, you weren’t disappointed. The Phillies hit 4 ( Rollins, Ruiz, Werth, and Ibanez), and the Yankees hit 3 (Rodriguez, Jeter, and Texiera). Even though Brett Myers gave up 3 solo homers, this had top be one of his best starts of the season so far going 8 innings which gave the bullpen a much needed night off. Raul Ibanez hit his 16th home run, is there anyone else in baseball hotter than Ibanez right now? the Phillies are now 7-1 on there 10 game road trip wth a chance to improve on that, 9-1 maybe asking too much, we’ll just have to wait and see.
