You have to love the NHL when they do things like this. I don’t think there is a hockey fan out there that thought the NHL would have the balls to suspend the Penguins Evgeni Malkin after his fight with Henrik Zetterberg, even though the rule says he should have. Apparently Director of Hockey Operations for the NHL, Colin Campbell, doesn’t think rule 47.22 should apply to Evegeni Malkin. He reviewed the fight and decided to rescind the 1 game suspension the rule calls for, sorry Colin you can’t tell me that Malkin wasn’t trying to send a message (no I’m not a Red Wings fan). Doesn’t anyone in the NHL offices realize how much of a joke the NHL becomes when they pull stunts like this? Here’s a suggstion, if you are not going to enforce the rules on everbody then get rid of the rules.
