Cliff Lee made his Phillies debut on Friday night and they got exactly what they were hoping for. Lee took a no-hitter into the sixth inning along with a 1-0 lead, enroute to a 5-1 complete game win over the San Francisco Giants. It was Lee’s third complete game in his last four starts, pretty impressive considering the Phillies as a team had only two complete games going into Friday night. Lee even helped himself with bat. Coming into Friday nights game he had only 2 career hits, he doubled that against the Giants, scored a run, and just missed hitting his first career home run, now that would have been icing on the cake. Actually that was fun to watch him pitch. It was also kind of funny how the Phillies added 4 runs after Lee lost his no-hitter, guess they were caught up with the possibility of a no-hitter. Good move. Categories: Uncategorized
