Jamie Moyer was a little upset about being moved to the bullpen to make room for Pedro Martinez in the starting rotation, which made things interesting on how the Phillies would use Moyer out of the bullpen. So on a night Pedro was making his second start, his first in front of the home crowd, the baseball gods intervened. Phillies’ fans got to see Pedro pitch 2 innings, giving up a leadoff home run to Steven Drew in the first inning. Then the rains came, which meant that Pedro was done for the night after 2 innings. In the third it was Jamie Moyer who took over, and dam if he didn’t do a great job. Moyer pitched the final 6 innings giving up just 2 hits with 5 K’s to pick up W in the Phillies 5-1 win over the Diamondbacks. Hey maybe they shoulod do this all the time, have Martinez pitch a couple of innings, then let Moyer finish.
