MLB announced it’s nominees for the Baseball Hall of Fame, it contains 26 names, 15 of which are first time nominees. Some of them are on their simply because they are eligible, and have no realistic shot of being voted in. 11 are holdovers from previous years, and will be interesting to see if they get voted in this year. The Sports Den thinks of the 15 first timers, Roberto Alomar, Barry Larkin, and Fred McGriff have a shot of being elected to the HOF. Will this be the year Bert Blyleven, Don Mattingly, Andre Dawson, and Lee Smith get in? The results of the voting by baseball writers will be announced on Jan. 6, the Veterens Committee results will be announced Dec. 7.
