The Peter Laviolette era opened with a very loud thud, with an embarrassing 8-2 loss to the Washington Capitals. Could it have been worse, sure imagine what the score would have been if Alex Ovechkin were in the lineup, and on the ice for the Caps’ nine minute powerplay. It definitely wasn’t the way Peter Laviolette wanted to start with the Flyers, he’s definitely has a lot of work to do. The most embarrassing part of this game, the Dan Carcillo cheap shot is #2, #1 goes to the way the Flyers just gave up after they fell behind 3-1, that says alot about this team. It will be interesting to see what happens in their next game, if it doesn’t change you could almost guarantee there will be some trades made.
