The Philadelphia Eagles have signed head coach Andy Reid to a 3 year contract extension that will keep Reid in Philly through the 2013 season. The Sports Den decided to take a look at how many coaching changes have taken place in the NFC East since Reid first came to the Eagles in 1999.
Philadelphia Eagles: 1999 – 2009 +3
Head Coach – Andy Reid
Washinton Redskins: 1999 – 2009
Head Coaches:
Norv Turner
Terry Robiskie – 3 games
Marty Schottenheimer
Steve Spurrier
Joe Gibbs
Jim Zorn – Most likely to be replaced at the end of the season.
Dallas Cowboys: 1999 – 2009
Head Coaches:
Chan Gaily
Dave Campo
Bill Parcells
Wade Phillips – Could possibly be replaced at the end of the season.
N.Y. Giants : 1999-2009
Head Coaches:
Jim Fassel
Tom Coughlin
There have been plenty of times that The Sports Den has said the Eagles should fire Reid, but considering what he has done with the Eagles, he has the Eagles set up to be good for quite a few years to come, its not a bad thing it keep him here, because the alternative could be a return to the bad Eagles teams of the 70’s.
