The NHL is going to investigate Fox Sports Net Pittsburgh for not sending all available camera angles to replay officials in Toronto. The replay in question was a goal scored by the Flyers Simone Gagne that was ruled no goal in the Flyers 7-4 win over the Penguins on Jan 6. FSN Pittsburgh didn’t send the camera angle that showed that it was infact a goal, and according to NHL officials, they weren’t aware that it existed until they made their ruling that it was no goal. Now the league is looking into wether that was deliberate or not. The NHL did not say how long the investigation woulsd take, or what penalties would come from it. Sounds like hockey shenanigans to The Sports Den.
Update 1/12/10 – A producer for FSN Pittsburgh has been suspended indefinitely for not supplying all of the replay angles to the NHL. That didn’t take long.
