The first day of NFL Free Agency is over and the biggest name on the menu was Julius Peppers, and the eagles didn’t place an order. Peppers signed with the Chicago Bears for a 6 year that could potentionally be worth $91 million, $42 million of that is guaranteed. He will make $20 million the first season and, $40.5 million the first three years. That was probably a little too steep a price to pay for the Eagles considering Pepper’s reputation fo rnot showing up every game and the fact that Peppers is 30 years old, and the Eagles don’t believe in shelling out that kind of money to a player so close to the downside of his career, if Peppers were say 28, the Eagles probably would have made a serious run at him. Don’t get me wrong he would have looked good in an Eagles uniform, but I can live with the fact that they didn’t sign him.
