You can’t blame Cole Hamels for the Phillies 2-0 loss on Sunday to the Florida Marlins. Hamels pitched his best game of the season so far, going 8 innings, giving up 7 hits, 2 ER’s and striking out 8, the only mistake he made was to Dan Uggla. Those numbers are good enough to win, but after a hot start the Phillies bats have cooled of a little, that was to be expected, there was no way they were going to continue on that pace all season. its still a good sign to see Hamels pitch the way he did. Just consider it a bump in the road.
