MLB announced on Tuesday that the scheduled inter-league series between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Toronto Blue Jays that was to be played at the Rodgers Centre from June 25 – 27 will now be played at Citizen’s Bank Park. The reason for the switch is due to the G20 Summit to be held in Toronto at the same time, all parties involved thought it would be best to move the series. The Blue Jays were expecting a big crowd for the return of Roy Halladay to Toronto, now it looks like they will have towait until next season for that. The Blue Jays have asked MLB to schedule an inter-league series between the two teams in Toronto in 2011.
In case your wondering the Phillies will be the road team and the Blue Jays will be the home team, and the designated hitter will be used. This might be the first time the road team gets cheered on by the home crowd.
