The Colorado Rockies accusations that the Phillies were trying to steal signs would be a little more believable if they had said a runner on second was doing it, and not a bullpen coach with a pair of binoculars. It would take too much time to relay the sign from the bullpen to the hitter for it to be of any use. MLB gave the Phillies a warning about it. If the Phillies do it they are not the only team that does, it’s just easier to do with runners on base. The Rockies weren’t the only ones accusing the Phillies, the Mets accused them in 2007. WHen asked about it Phillies Manager Charlie Manuel had the best response on why they were being accused by the Rockies and Mets:
“Because we beat them, keep crying.”
