Jeremy Roenick
This has nothing to do with the way Jeremy Roenick played hockey, but everything to do with his current job, hockey analyst. Now if Roenick had said he was leaning toward the Blackhawks to win the Cup since it was his first team instead of saying :
“My heart is with NBC — they teach me as an analyst you can’t root — no rooting,” Roenick told NBC Philadelphia’s John Clark before Game 1 of the Finals. “I’m right down the middle.”
Now The Sports Den understands that NBC put Roenick in a tough position since he played for the Blackhawks and Flyers. That doesn’t excuse this. Then again the announcers on NBC were a little one sided. to steal a line from a movie, “there’s no crying in baseball”, but it appears here that crying is allowed in hockey. If the Flyers or Coyotes or any other team you played for besides the Blackhawks wins the Cup, do us all a favor and go cry somewhere else, we don’t need your crocodile tears.
