With the recent rumors according to CSNPhilly.com’s so called insider Jim Salisbury, the Phillies might be looking for help for the back end of their starting rotation, making Ruben Amaro Jr’s trade of Cliff Lee to Seattle for trade bait that much dumber. It started to look like a good move considering they way Cliff Lee’s season started, but now, after beating the Yankees on Tuesday night for his third straight complete game win, Lee improved to 7-3 on the season with a 2.45 ERA. It was Lee’s fifth complete game in twelve starts, and considering that Roy Halladay has five complete games, it makes you think would Chad Durbin be on the disabled list if Lee were still here? Thanks to Ruben Amaro Jr, I guess we’ll never know the answer to that question. One thing is for sure if he were still here they wouldn’t be looking for help for the starting rotation. Here’s hoping that the Phillies can win another World Series under Ruben Amaro so he won’t only be remebered for making this dumb trade.
