The Phillies have announced that they have relieved Milt Thompson of his duties as hitting instructor for the team. Thompson has been the hitting coach for the Phillies since 2004, replacing Greg Gross, (hitting coach 2002-04), who is now going to replace Thompson. Greg Gross has been a hitting instructor in the Phillies farm system sinnce 2005, most recently with the Iron Pigs since 2008. Not like thier going outside the organization, or bringing someone new, since Gross has been their hitting instructor before. Can’t blame Thompson for all of it, then again their not going to fire 25 players. Looks like Ruben Amaro made this move just to shake things up, and the fact he had to change the subject from all of the heat he is taking the last few days about the Cliff Lee trade. Can’t blame Thompson for all of it, then again their not going to fire 25 players.
