The NFL is halfway through its season and here at The Sports Den instead of taking a look at who the favotite to wi the Super Bowl is, no clear cut favorite yet, we are going to look at who is in the lead in the race for the #1 pick in the NFL’s 2011 draft. There are quite a few teams in the race, with a couple of teams being rweal surprises. The Sports Den is going just by the teams record as of now, we are not taking into account wether the team that wins the #1 pick will have to give it away due to a previous trade. This list could and probably will change over the next few weeks depending on which teams get hot and which teams go stone cold.
FRONT RUNNERS:
1. Buffalo Bills (0-7) – Right now they are in the lead and considering their remaining schedule, (Bears,Lions,Bengals,Steelers,Vikings,Browns,Dolphins,Patriots,Jets), could realistically go 0-16 and clinch the #1 pick.
2. Dallas Cowboys (1-6) – This is a surprise since they were originally picked as one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl. Tony Romo is out,and Kitna is in not looking good. Next five games are against the Packers, Giants, Lions, Saints,Colts, can see at least4 losses maybe 5.
3. Carolina Panthers (1-6) – This turned out to be a rebuilding year in Carolina, wether or not John Fox is back next year is another story. The Panthers have a tough schedule the rest of the way, could possibly get 1-2 mor wins.
RIGHT THERE:
4. San Francisco 49ers (2-6) – Don’t know what happened to this team, were picked by some experts to win the NFC West, not now. With their remaining schedule they could still get a few more wins.
5. Denver Broncos (2-6) – Since starting off last season 6-0, the Broncos have gone 4-14.
IN THE RUNNING:
6. Cleveland Browns (2-5) – Another team with a brutal schedule the rest of the way should stay in the huint for the #1 pick.
7. Cincinnati Bengals (2-5) – Having T.O. and Ocho cinco hasn’t workwed out they way the Bengals had hoped.has it.
8. Minnesota Vikings (2-5) – This is a surprise. Here’s hoping that the Vikings keep losing and Brett Favre finally retires for real. Especially liked the randy Moss deal.
9. Detroit Lions (2-5) – This is a switch, usually the Lions have the #1 picked locked up by now.
OUTSIDE SHOT:
10. Arizona Cardinals (3-4) – 2 years ago they were in the Super Bowl, now its back to the usual Cardinals football.
