So much for thinking the Flyers didn’t have much cap space to sign anyone. The Flyers announced today that they have signed Jeff Carter to a multi-year deal. The Flyers haven’t announced the terms yet, but its being reported by Yahoo Sports, and Bob McKenzie of TSN that the deal is 11 years and worth $58 million. So its a safe bet that you won’t be hearing any Jeff carter trade rumors anytime soon.Ā Unlike recent long term deals this one won’t be looked at by the NHL for trying to get around the cap since Carter will only be 37 when the deal expires.
