With the departure of Jayson Werth during the offseason the Phillies RF position was up for grabs. Ben Francisco eventually won the position during the spring, and if the first two games are any indication, Phillies fans need to keep their fingers crossed when a fly ball is hit to RF. If you recall during Friday’s opening day game Francisco misplayed a fly ball, and during Saturday’s game he had a collision with CF Shane Victorino. Francisco hasn’t played alot since being aquired by the Phillies in the original Cliff Lee deal, which may explain his problems in the out field, but it is still something to keep an eye on during the season, which leaves the question when will John Mayberry Jr. take over.
