The Sports Den is a couple days late with this post, but as they say better late than never. Sweeping a team in a four game series is always tough, the best being a four game sweep in the World Series, the next best, sweeping a team in your division four games. That’s what the Phillies did this past week against the Florida Marlins, they even swept them in a day – night double header which makes it more impressive. The sweep moved the Marlins to last place in the NL East as of Thursday night. The sweep increased the Phils winning streak to seven games, unfortunately it was snapped by the Mariners on Friday night. No sweeping in Seattle for Phils.
