The Sports Den’s 2011 NFL Predictions (Guesses) – NFC East

Its that time of year for The  Sports Den to make its predictions (guesses) on how each division will end up at the end of the season. Some of the reasoning for the predictions will be long and some will be very short.  It will be interesting and funny to see how they turn out. Since The Sports Den is a big Eagles fan that is where we are going to start off, the NFC East.

2011 NFC East Final Standings
1.Philadelphia Eagles  – Finished 10-6 in 2010 and added some big ticket free agents and coaches. Some questions on defense especially with new coordinator Juan Castillo. Offense shouldn’t be a problem, a couple of new additions on the offensive line in Danny Watkins and Ryan Harris, shouldn’t be a problem with Howard Mudd coaching the offensive line, could need to sign another backup QB if Vince Young doesn’t improve over the next few weeks. The biggest question is the same with every team can they stay healthy enough? Shouldn’t have a problem repeating as NFC East Champs.  (11-5)

2. Dallas Cowboys  – Finished 6-10 last season. The Cowboys named Rob Ryan as their defensive coordinator. Not too many additions in free agency. Have some problems in their secondary. Might have a few problems on offense as well. Might be a little improvement over season. (9-7) .

3.N.Y. Giants  – Finished 10-6 last season and missed the playoffs. Another team in the division that didn’t add much during free agency.  Will be a typical Giants season. (9-7).

4. Washington Redskins –  Finished 6-10 last season. Downgraded their QB position with Rex Grossman.  Grossman’s expectations might be a bit out of reach for this team, guaranteeing the Redskins will win the division, only if at the end of the season you turn the NFC East standings upside down then Grossman will be right. Don’t see much iomprovement from this team  over last season. (6-10)
