Ok its August 31st and the Phillies are in Cincinnati and its time to start the countdowns. The first countdown is for 100 wins, with the Phillies only 15 wins away heading into tonights game. The second is the magic number to win the division. Ok some Phillies fans might think its a little early to start counting down toward the dividios title but here at The Sports Den we think theres no better way to start the final month of the season than counting down. The Phillies do hold a seven and a half game lead over the Braves, but the bigger nomber is they are nine games ahead of the Braves in the loss column, and have three games in hand. Heading into tronights game the Phillies magic number is 23. if you shpould be womdering how to figure it out take the number of games remaining, add one then subtract the number of games ahead in the loss column to get the magic number.
