Here’s a little history lesson about the AFC South. Only two teams have won this division since it came into existance in 2002, the Colts (6), and the Titans (3). Even if Peyton Manning sits out the first game this is still the Colts division, and should win it for a seventh time.
AFC Final Standings 2011
1. Indianapolis Colts – Still the best team in this division. Won it for the sixth time last season with a 10-6 record. There really isn’t any reason why they shouldn’t win it for the seventh time in ten years.(11-5)
2. Houston Texans – After completing their first winning season in franchise history in 2009, the Texans went backwards in 2010 going 6-10. The Texans bought in Wade Phillips to run the defense so they should improve just a little. Could have another winning season and make the playoffs for the first time.(9-7)
3. Jacksonville Jaguars – The Jaguars had a shot at making the playoffs last season, but lost their last three games to finish 8-8, and miss the playoffs. This could be Jack Del Rio’s last season as head coach. (7-9)
4. Tennessee Titans – The Titans finished last season 6-10, now Vince Young and Jeff Fisher are both gone and the Titans are in thr rebuilding process. A long season for Titans fans. (4-12).
