The Pittsburgh Pirates at one point this season were in first place in the NL Central seven games over .500. That was then, this is now, with a 3-2 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals the Pirates officially locked up their nineteenth straight losing season. In their last 54 games the Pirates are 16-38, that will do it. On the bright side it was announced today the Pirates open next season against the Phillies.
