The NFL sent a memo out to all the teams regarding the punishment for faking injuries during a game, response to what the Giants did Monday night to slow down the Rams no huddle offense. It states that any suspected faking of injuries to disrupt the flow of the game will result in players, coaches and cubs facing league discipline that could include fines, suspensions and forfeiting draft picks.
So it looks like the first offense will be a fine, the second offense will be a suspension to those players and coaches deemed to be involved, and any offense after that will result in the team forfeiting draft picks. Maybe the collective baragining agreement has something to do with the way the punishment is handed down, but if the NFL wants to make sure it doeasn’t happen, any offense should result in a hefty fine and loss of draft picks, just a thought.
