1. The Washington Capitals fired coach Bruce Boudreau, and will replace him with former Capital and most hated player when he played Dale Hunter.

2. The Carolina Hurricanes have fired coach Paul Maurice and Kirk Muller head coach.

MLB

1. The Houston  Astros announced they have fired G.M. Ed Wade and Preasident of baseball Operations Tal Smith.

College Sports

Football

1. Ohio St. axed interim head coach Luke Fickel and replaced him with Urban Meyer.

2. Illinois fired head coach Rod Zook after losing its last six games after it started the season 6-0.

3. Kansas fired head coach Turner Gill after just two season. Gill just finished the second year of a five year $10 million contract. In two seasons Gill went 5-19, and just 1-16 in the Big 12.

4. UCLA annouced it has fired coach Rick Neuheisel. this comes after UCLA lost to USC 50-0 on Saturday night. Neuheisel will coach UCLA in the Pac-12 Championship game.

5. Arizona St. fired head coach Dennis Erickson

6. Memphis fired head coach Larry Porter after going 3-21 in two seasons

7. UAB fired head coach Neil Callaway. Callaway had an 18-42 record in five seasons.

8. Washington St. head coach Paul Wulff could be fired wihtin th enext 24 hours. Wulff has a 9-40 record in four seasons at Washington St.

Basketball

1.    Syracuse announced it has fired longtime assistan basketball coach Bernie Fine due to allegations of abuse.
