Joe Paterno 1926 – 2012

Former Penn St. football coach Joe Paterno passed away early Sunday morning from complications from lung cancer treament (some will say from a broken heart). Paterno is the winningest coach in Division 1 history with 409 wins, tied with Amos Alonzo Stagg for most games coached 548, won 2 National Titles 1982, 1986, three Big Ten Conference Titles, 37 bowl appearances, 24 bowl wins, most among coaches, 5 undefeated seasons, and 9 Coach of the Year Awards. Paterno spent 61 years at Penn St. 46 as head coach.
