There were rumors over the last few weeks that the eagles were going to put the “franchise tag” on WR Desean Jackson, and on Thursday afternoon they made it official. What happens next is anybody’s guess since there also was a rumor that the Eagles were going to tag and trade Jackson. The Eagles said they would like to keep Jackson for the long haul and this was a step in that direction, guess we’ll have to wait until the draft to see if that is true. Jackson will get a nice raise out of it, going from about $550,000 up to $9.4 million.
