It was a little scary but the Phillies did earn a split with the Chicago Cubs with a 6-4 win in their series finale on Monday night. It started off good with the phillies jumping out to a 4-0 after one inning. It stayed that way until the seventh inning when the Cubs scored to make it 4-1. The Cubs added three more runs in the top of eighth to tie it. Fortunately the Phillies scored two in the bottom of the eighth on a two out two run double by Placido Palanco. Vance Worely pitched 7 strong innings giving up just one run but came away with a no-decision. Chad Qualls picked up the win after blowing the save in the eighth, and Jonathan Papelbon picked up his eighth save. The Phillies improve to 10-11, while the Cubs drop to 8-15. The Phillies now head to Atlanta to take on the Braves.
