According to the Associated Press the BCS Commissioners have agreed to a model four team seeded playoff that will be presented to university presidents some time next week for approval.  According to the article there would be two national semi final games that would be worked into the current bowl lineup, then the site of the championship game would be bid out the way the super bowl is. There are more details about the plan that are being kept under wraps right now. There is no guarantee this will be approved since the Big 10, and Pac 12 would prefer not to have two national semi final games, but instead have the national championship game played after the bowl game were completed, called the plus one model. It remains to be seen when a timetable for implementing the playoff will happen so stay tuned.
