In what is more of a profesional courtesy than anything else, it was announced that the Phillies traded Jim Thome to the Baltimore Orioles. Since it becoming quite obvious that the Phillies chances of making the playoffs are becoming extremely slim, and Thome’s back would not allow him to play the field much, he was traded to a team that still has a shot to make the playoffs and Thome can DH. In return the Phillies get two class A players you will probably never here of again, C Gabriel Lino, and P Kyle Simon. Good luck to Jim Thome, hopefully you get a ring this year.
