The Phillies avoided their third six game losing streak of the season by beating the Colorado Rockies 8-5 on Saturday night. It looked like it would be an easy win after the Phillies jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first, and took a 6-2 lead into the bottom of the eighth, but…… It turned into a nail biter when Brian Sanchez gave up a three run home run that made the score 6-5, and Phillies fans had that sudden feeling in their gut saying here we go again. Fortunately the Phillies added a couple of insurance runs in the top of the ninth, that hasn’t happened too often this season, and Jonathan Papelbon recorded the last five outs to pick up his 19th save. The Phillies improve to 38-51, while the Rockies drop to 34-53.
