It was another classic pitching duel between the Phillies Cliff Lee, and the Dodgers Clayton Kershaw. The game went into the 10th inning tied at 1-1 after the Phillies bullpen got out of a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the ninth. Hunter Pence came up big for the second game in a row with a two run single in the 10th to give the Phillies a 3-1 lead heading into the bottom half of the inning. Unfortunately Jonathan Papelbon blew his third save of the year, and the game was tied at 3-3 heading into the 11th inning. It stayed tied until the bottom of the 12th when Matt Kemp hit a two run homer off of Jake Diekman and the Phillies winning streak came to an end at four games. With the loss the Phillies drop to 41-52, while the Dodgers avoid being swept and improve to 49-44.
